Overview
5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small-molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT). Supplied as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro research use only.
Mechanism of Action
Reported in published in-vitro and animal-model studies to competitively inhibit NNMT, the enzyme that methylates nicotinamide. Lowered NNMT activity is reported in cell-culture assays to raise intracellular NAD⁺ and S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) levels. Not intended for human or veterinary use.

NAD+ is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a redox coenzyme present in every living cell and one of the most studied molecules in biochemistry.
